Euro 6 Elegance 22 Seater

Robinsons of the Shetland Islands have taken delivery of a new Euro 6 Elegance 22 Seater from EVM’s Sales office in Horsham, West Sussex.

The Sprinter is based on the Euro 6 516 Cdi 163BHP Common Rail Direct Injection diesel engine. Transmission is a 6 Speed Manual gear box, and the exterior is finished in Mercedes-Benz White.

Passenger Entry:
New EVM Plug type passenger electric door with manual emergency release and exterior lock facility with EVM’s moulded three stage entry step with LED strip lights.

Mercedes-Benz glazed saloon side windows in privacy grey with original aperture inside. Original Mercedes-Benz front windscreen.

Original Mercedes-Benz 270 degrees hinge doors. EVM’s light weight luggage partition to close off boot area when down seated to 16. 2 full length brushed aluminium luggage racks stretch the length of the saloon with full length strip lighting and blue LED night lights with individual passenger service units having reading lights and adjustable air ducts.

Climate Control:
In-Dash air conditioning, Forced air ducted through service units in the luggage. Saloon heating with heater booster.

Mercedes-Benz Sound 15 upgrade Radio – SD card input and saloon speakers integrated in passenger service units. PA system with hand microphone. Bluetooth ready.

The saloon features 22 Brusa Crete 80 Seats with 3 point belts. Folding arm rests to Isle side with fixed back rest finished in Epengle Moquette with leather head rests.

Exterior Styling:
X-Clusive body moulded side skirts in matching vehicle colour. Euro Liner wheel trims.

As with all EVM minibus’s the vehicle is completed to European whole vehicle type approval and comes with full 3 year Mercedes-Benz Unlimited mileage Chassis Warranty.

About the Customer:
Robinson Transport are based in Weisdale on the west of Shetland. The company can trace its origins back to 1930 when Jackie Robinson and Davie Morrison started a general merchant store. As well as running the shop, Robinson and Morrison also did some private vehicle hire in the local area. With the unfortunate passing of Davie Morrison in 1945, Jackie was joined in the business by his wife Mimie. In 1948 they were awarded the local school contract which is still operated today. During the 1950s their elder sons Melvyn and Ian joined the business which continued to grow, benefitting especially during the 1970s with the advent of the Shetland oil boom. When Jackie passed away in 1985, Melvyn and Ian were joined in the business by their younger brother Graham. During the next 18 years the hiring side of the business increased and in 2004 Graham took this over, renaming it Robinson Transport. Today the fleet consists of vehicles from 4 – 43 seaters used on a variety of work including school contracts, private hire, stage carriage and incoming tours.
