Compliance Engineer

The Company

EVM Direct Limited a new and used Mini Coach dealership based in Crawley West Sussex. EVM Direct is a leading retailer of new and used Mini Coaches throughout the UK and supports its products and customers through its service and parts departments.

 

The Role

EVM Limited – Ireland’s leading mini bus manufacturer is looking to recruit a Compliance Engineer to work with senior management to ensure the company meets the principles and rules set by the motor industry regulatory bodies in our target markets and the company’s current European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EWVTA) is maintained and updated when required.

Job Purpose

  • To ensure that all current and future vehicles comply with the relevant legislation in their target market.
  • To maintain existing EWVTA accreditation and update the accreditation when required for new products and new markets ensuring the company’s vehicles can be registered and sold in existing and target markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with management and provide regulatory guidance and interpretation for product design compliance and strategic product planning.
  • Prepare technical representation and presentation for various Regulatory Authorities, Government Agencies and test facilities.
  • Provide technical link between sales and production teams on bespoke vehicles.
  • Compilation and maintenance of compliance data and the creation of homologation documentation.
  • To be fully aware of all relevant homologation regulations for existing and target Markets (i.e. EC Directive 2007/46 – Europe)

Knowledge and Experience

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent, in automotive engineering or similar technical or engineering discipline.
  • Experience in vehicle regulatory compliance/territory homologation is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • A general understanding of motor vehicles and their components.
